Intuitive Design: How I Channelled A New Brand Identity Concept While Falling Asleep
A new method that might get me ahead of prospective clients
I’m in search of the owner of a new brand identity design concept that was intuitively channelled as I was drifting off to sleep. Sound crazy? I get it. Curious? Please read on!
From a young age I always believed there was more to life than what meets the eye, that we have the ability to rise above our everyday human problems to see the bigger picture, and that we each have an inherent ability to shape our own realities for the better. This belief system has been the foundation of building a life for myself that feels more and more authentic, creative, magical and aligned with my soul essence and purpose.
I’ve been drawn to the spiritual world from a young age. And by spiritual, I mean the world of spirit — our loved ones continuing to exist after death in a form that we simply can’t see, hear or feel in our standard way of operating as a human.
This way of thinking—as with many spiritual beliefs and practices—has always brought me great comfort, inspiration and motivation. It reminds me that I’m here for a greater purpose and that what I have to contribute to the world is more valuable than I had previously thought.
Creativity in an artistic sense is a gift that has come easily to me since I was young. It naturally led me down the path of art and design. I’ve been running my freelance graphic design business since 2015 (with a couple of part time and full time gigs along the way).
I’m so grateful for the ability to have a vision in my mind and to be able to express it in a physical form — something that I know many people struggle with.
As a side note, it’s my personal belief that everything can be learned with patience, dedication and a belief in anything being possible, so if you have always wanted to learn how to paint or draw but just keep telling yourself that you aren’t gifted that way, stop! Practice, practice, practice.
I believe that my vivid inner landscape and ability to produce strong visualizations was the bridge to discovering my clairvoyance, which is the ability to see what our normal human senses typically cannot.
For me, it’s not that I see spirits walking around right in front of me (but I have also set a boundary with spirit to not do that because I jump scare way too easily), however I see spirit and the visuals that they communicate through my third eye, almost as if watching a movie or a memory play out in my mind.
Since learning to tap into my clairvoyance, I have also developed—and am continuously developing—clairsentience (clear feeling), claircognizance (clear knowing), and clairintellect (clear thinking). I’m currently working on clairtangency (sensing things through touching an object that belonged to someone), and clairaudience (hearing messages or sounds). I also learned that I have always had strong clairempathy, the ability to deeply sense the emotions of others.
Developing my mediumship abilities led me to the practice of deciphering oracle cards. While I enjoy other methods of divination as well, such as tea leaf and pendulum reading, cards are my absolute favourite because they bridge my love of art and design with my my spiritual connection. As a visual learner, I also appreciate the way they tell a story.
As an aside, this interest in cards and my ever-growing collection is what inspired me to intuitively birth my own deck, Blooming Spirit Oracle.
This is just a little backstory into how I got on the path I’m on right now and how this new method of creating a brand identity concept came to be. Thanks for hanging in there!

Now, I’d like to introduce you to Karma Kosmetics. This is the first concept produced through my exciting new method that combines intuition, spirituality and creativity. But first, another brief story:
While trying to fall asleep one night (a time that my most creative ideas seem to flourish, often to my annoyance), I suddenly received a crystal clear download of two distinct brand identities.
I clearly saw names and taglines, with a rough idea of fonts and colours. For the first identity, I saw two koi fish swimming in a circular formation. I instantly understood this was a visual representation of the saying “what goes around, comes around.”
The primary idea behind this company seemed to be that using eco-friendly, sustainable and ethically produced cosmetics and personal care products will bring good energy to its consumers, which I love.
I told myself that if the ideas were still fresh in my memory when I woke up, maybe I was onto something. And they were! For a few weeks, I sat with this idea of manifesting a new branding project—my favourite type of work as a designer—before the client has even found me.
As wild as it felt at first, the more I thought about it, the more this process felt right for me. I got to work painting the koi fish and developing the concept. It came together seamlessly thanks to the enhanced intuitive process.

A note on the name: I’d never heard of or seen a company with this name prior. Other spelling ideas that came to me through the process were Karma Cosmetics and Karma Causemetics. I trust that whoever it’s meant for will find me and adjustments will be made as needed!
Now that this concept has become tangible, I’m in search of its owner! If it sparks a YES within you, or inspires you to collaborate on other design projects together, I invite you to reach out. If you know someone that you think this may belong to, please share to help us find each other.
